Teacher Appreciation Week!

“I am not a teacher, but an awakener!” - Robert Frost

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

To me, this is a week not just for expressing gratitude but also for reflection on the transformative power of educators. In my own journey, countless teachers have left indelible marks, shaping not just my academic pursuits but my very identity.

From the nurturing guidance of Mrs. Vickery and Mrs. Robinson at Hoover Elementary, who recognized and nurtured my potential, to the dynamic classrooms of Salk Elementary where Mrs. Allen, Mrs. Curtis, Ms. Fisher, Mrs. Lemley, Mrs. Anderson, and many others sparked my creativity and passion for learning, each teacher played a pivotal role in providing hope and belief.

Middle school, often a tumultuous time, was made brighter by the unwavering support of educators like Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Jackson, Mrs. Murray, Mrs. Currington, Principal Nichols, and countless others who fostered a positive environment with opportunities for growth.

At Memorial High School, teachers like Mrs. Riddle, Mr. Plum, Ms. Keblish, Mrs. Berlin, Ms. Wolf, Mrs. Baker, and many more not only imparted knowledge but also helped me discover my unique strengths and contributions to the world.

Even beyond the classroom, college professors played a pivotal role in uncovering my latent talents and fueling my passion for education as a vehicle for positive change.

Teachers, I believe, are the dealers of hope and belief. They illuminate pathways to our dreams, instilling confidence and resilience in their students. With innovative approaches, they expand horizons, enabling students to envision a world full of possibilities.

I am optimistic that we will never underestimate the immeasurable value of teachers and their noble profession. As a society, may we continually elevate and honor educators, recognizing their tireless dedication to shaping minds and futures.

This Teacher Appreciation Week, let's celebrate the unsung heroes of education who, with boundless passion and unwavering commitment, mold the leaders, innovators, and changemakers of tomorrow. Thank you, teachers, for everything you do.

Keep Shining Friends,

Dr. C
